Branding - A Day in the Life
Screen Time Tells No Lies - Mind Blown
Throughout a typical day, I spend my time scrolling through social media and working on school assignments. As I intend to pursue a career in social media marketing, I am constantly staying updated with the latest trends and popular products across all social media platforms. I find it interesting how phones now track screen time, and upon checking mine, I discovered that I spent over four hours on my phone today. I mainly use TikTok, as I am a beginner content creator, and focus on building my social media presence there. Snapchat is my second most used app, and I often find myself getting caught up in unnecessary stories and streaks with friends.
I've noticed that my emotional responses are closely tied to the content I consume. During the peak of the pandemic, there was a surge in "doom-scrolling," which is the relentless consumption of distressing news on various online platforms. I believe that being mindful of what we choose to view on social media might help reduce its negative impact.
Despite not having a clear preference for any specific app, my screen time indicates that I spend at least an hour daily on TikTok. This platform brings me joy and also serves as a source of income through personal and business-related content. I have received collaboration offers from companies, and while I'm excited about this new venture, I ensure that the companies I collaborate with align with my values.
